Oyo Rooms is an Indian multinational hospitality company e founded in 2003 by Ritesh Agarwal.
It initially consisted mainly of budget hotels and now the startup expanded globally with a thousand of hotels, vacation homes, and millions of rooms in India, UAE, Nepal, Malaysia, China, Brazil, Japan, UK, Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Mexico, United States and many more.

Recently in April 2021 several news reports and social media posts claimed that you had filed for bankruptcy but their CEO Mr. Ritesh Agarwal clarified to be a false statement or a true you also admitted that the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT) initiated an insolvency resolution process on OYO hotels on the basis of a hotelier petition over a monetary dispute with the company.
Anjali 2019 founder and CEO Ritesh Agarwal signed a ₹2 billion deal to buy back shares from existing investors Lightspeed Venture Partners and Sequoia India to increase the stake in the company to 30% and the company was valued at ₹10 billion with the deal.
In the same year the registered revenue of USD 951 billion, a 4.5-time increase on a year-on-year basis as compared to USD 211 million.
In order to have their partner hotels reach their business goal, the company announced the launch of an open program in April 2019 in addition they upgraded the Co – OYO application for hotel partners to provide complete visibility on all business and customer matrices.
In 2019 Oyo Rooms implemented a digital register mechanism that allows it to share customer data in real-time with the government but this was described as a threat to privacy.
Also, there has been accused of using Predatory pricing, which means they are using a method of undercutting on a large scale and not following its own agreement including threatening hotels to unilaterally change some of the clauses or not to be paid.
